If you remember a few weeks back I talked about receiving a package of WINK Frozen Desserts in the mail.
It is no secret that I have an unhealthy obsession with frozen yogurt so I am always looking for a healthier alternative. Since we don’t live in a world where unlimited sugar and calories are OK I have to find a way to tame my cravings and save frozen yogurt for a few select days.
When I first heard about WINK it sounded too good to be true.
Wink is known because they are:
- Gluten Free
- Sugar Free
- Dairy Free
- Soy Free
- Fat Free
- Nut Free
- Egg Free
If you are thinking the same thing I am at this point it is: well then what is left!?
I was scared that it was going to be full of all sorts of ingredients that I had never heard of, but I was pleasantly surprised!
They list their ingredients right on the carton and on their website:
Ingredients: Water, Pea Protein, Vegetable Glycerin, Organic Agave Inulin, Organic Flavors, Organic Tapioca, Monk Fruit, Baking Soda, Xantham Gum, Organic Steva, Guar Gum.

Not too shabby!
They are also known for only having 25 calories per serving. There are 4 servings per container so that comes out to 100 calories per container.
Here is a breakdown of the nutrition label:
Per Serving: 25 calories, 0 g fat, 0 g saturated fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 45 mg sodium, 4 g carbs, 1 g fiber, 0 g sugar, 2 g protein.
Just to give you a comparison here is a break down of a normal pint of ice cream nutrition facts:
Per Serving: 150 calories, 8 g fat, 5 g saturated fat, 45 mg cholesterol, 45 mg sodium, 15 g carbs, 0 g fiber, 15 g sugar, 3 g protein. (source)
I first opened the containers a few days after I received them when I was having a late night sweet craving.
The texture at first surprised me. When I first heard of WINK I was expecting a frozen yogurt like texture. When I opened the carton it reminded me more of a frozen Icee.
If you allow WINK to soften it becomes close to the texture of frozen yogurt and ice cream. I think this is one of the biggest keys with this dessert. Don’t eat it right out of the freezer – let it sit for 5-10 minutes to thaw out a little bit.

This was one of my top favorites. I love all things cinnamon and it had just the right amount of balance and was delicious!
Hands down this was my absolute favorite flavor. I have been on a big chocolate mint kick lately. Even my husband enjoyed this!
To me it reminded me of biting into a Thin Mint cookie. Those are my favorite girl scout cookies so I was automatically hooked!
It wasn’t bad, but I have never been a fan of coffee flavored yogurt/ice cream or really anything besides coffee itself. If you do enjoy coffee flavors, I do think you would enjoy this.
This was probably my second favorite flavor. It is light and has just the amount of chocolate and cookie dough flavoring without being over the top.
I did add a little bit extra cocoa powder a couple times just to pick up the sweet factor a little.
I originally thought cake batter would be my absolute favorite flavor. I usually love anything that has “cake” or “batter” in the name. Unfortunatly, this one was just too strong for me.
I did enjoy adding it into smoothies though. It was a great addition!
Overall I really enjoyed WINK Frozen Desserts. They are a healthy alternative to sweet snacking when that craving hits. I always added toppings such a chocolate chips, fruit or even nut butters.
I would definitely purchase WINK to snack on in the future, and really love having it there in my freezer when I get the late night sweet attack.
I recommended this to my sister-in-law who is lactose intolerant and often has a hard time finding good substations for ice cream. If you suffer from an intolerance of gluten, dairy, soy etc. I would highly recommend this for you!
